A two-decade survey of the upstate-based, Somali-born painter, whose dense, kaleidoscopic canvases draw on her training in Arabic calligraphy and on the natural world. She often paints with her fingers and stitches found fabrics into her canvases. Pair it with the Schultz show in the same building for an unhurried afternoon.
